  • Classes begin the weeks of June 2nd & July 21st 
  • Classes meet 1 hour per week (1/2 hour for tots classes) for 6 weeks.
  • Cost: $72 ($108 for non-residents)
  • Tots Classes: $36 ($54 for non-residents)

MEET OUR COACHES

Seth Wood

Coach Seth is a USPTA-certified coach and experienced racket stringer. He enjoys working with players of all levels and mainly focuses on ages 10 to adult. His lessons help to build strong fundamentals and solid technique, leading to long-term improvement and success on the court. By adapting to each client’s individual needs, his lessons bring quality and purpose to every ball hit.

Private coaching, group lessons, hitting sessions, and stringing services available.

Jewel Peterson

Coach Jewel believes that the key to becoming an elite player is becoming elite in the mind: “It’s my goal that every player I work with becomes a master of their mind and emotions.”

Jewel is the owner of Peterson Tennis Management. Her academy caters to children, teens and adults. Peterson Elite is her high-performance tennis academy focused on training pro tennis players in their quest to dominate the globe. She’s had solid results—Jewel was Coco Gauff’s childhood private coach. As a pro herself, Jewel reached the top 200 and competed in world-class tournaments like the U.S. Open, Western & Southern Open, and the Sony Open. She also played World Team Tennis with the Newport Breakers.

Jewel graduated with a BA degree from the Annenberg School of Communication and received an MBA degree from West Georgia. She has PTR, 10u, Cardio Tennis and High-Performance Tennis Training Certifications. She also has personal trainer and group fitness certifications from AFAA, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America.

LeTrone Mason

Mason is a long-time head coach at GSU with over 20 years of collegiate coaching experience, including a national championship at the junior college level. A standout player who competed at the top court for both singles and doubles at Florida A&M, Mason was a two-time All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference selection for the Rattlers' men's tennis team. He graduated from Florida A&M with a bachelor's degree in computer information systems in 1997.

Mason earned his USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) teaching certification in 2000 and has taught and instructed at numerous tennis centers and academies throughout the U.S. In 2019, he became the owner and director of Inside Out Tennis LLC, an organization that focuses on teaching the game of tennis to clients of all ages and levels of ability.  Read his full bio here.
