Summer Nights Just Got a Whole Lot More Fun: Scene on the Green Comes to The Art Place

If your summer plans call for fresh air, family time, and free entertainment, Scene on the Green at The Art Place is about to become your new favorite tradition. This inaugural year of the series brings an exciting mix of live music, theatre, and movies to the great outdoors—all at no cost to attend.
Hosted by Cobb County PARKS and sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, Scene on the Green is more than just a lineup of performances. It’s an invitation to slow down, spread out on the lawn, and enjoy the magic of summer evenings surrounded by friends, neighbors, and the arts. Whether you’re catching a Shakespeare play under the stars or dancing to bluegrass with the kids, this series was created with community in mind.
The season kicks off June 13 and 14 with a high-energy youth theatre production of Beetlejuice Jr., performed by The Art Place’s own Cabaret Camp. From there, the summer rolls out a vibrant schedule with something for everyone:
- June 28: The Jared Bogle Band brings toe-tapping Irish flair
- July 10: Top Gun: Maverick takes off on the big screen
- July 18–19: Mad Artists Entertainment presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream
- July 24: Pixar’s Inside Out 2 makes us laugh, cry, and feel all the feels
- August 14: Twisters spins into town with action and thrills
- August 16: End of the Line closes out the series with a genre-blending concert full of energy and heart
Guests are encouraged to arrive early—gates open at 6:00 PM—and bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets. Performances begin at 7:00 PM, with lawn and grass seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. A few bistro tables and chairs will also be up for grabs for early birds.
Located at 3330 Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, The Art Place has long been a creative hub in the community, known for connecting people of all ages with visual and performing arts. Scene on the Green is a natural extension of that mission—now with more room to spread out and enjoy the show.
So grab your people, your picnic, and maybe even your dancing shoes. This summer, Cobb County’s newest tradition is waiting for you on the green.
All events and parking are free and open to the public.
