Family STEAM Night is February 19 at North Cobb Regional Library

Embark on a journey of discovery at North Cobb Regional Library’s Family STEAM Night, where hands-on exploration meets innovation. In collaboration with 12 dynamic community organizations, NCRL invites families of all ages to dive into the fascinating world of STEAM at the event on Wednesday, February 19, 5:30 pm to 8 pm.
Participating organizations include Atlanta Astronomy Club, Cobb Water, Cultured Ag, Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia Public Library Service, Georgia Youth Science Technology Center, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, MIT Open Learning PLIX (Public Library Innovation Exchange), South Cobb Arts Alliance, Smith-Gilbert Gardens, and Southeast Cubing.
Experience cutting-edge technology as you pilot drones, explore virtual reality, and see laser cutters and 3D printers in action. Get hands-on with engineering challenges like building catapults, designing wearable circuits, and crafting high-flying paper airplanes.
Explore agriculture, drawing techniques, conservation, aerodynamics, digital fabrication, lifecycles and more through interactive exhibits. Learn about dairy cows and sustainable farming, and discover the science behind the world around us. As night falls, peer through high-powered telescopes to marvel at the stars and planets.
The library will also offer an exciting circuit activity, made possible through the mentorship and generosity of MIT Open Learning’s PLIX.
To top it all off, thrilling STEM-based games, toys and robots will be given away as door prizes. Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of creativity, exploration, and hands-on learning for the whole family!
