Cobb County Honored for Digital Innovation at 2025 Technology Innovation Showcase
Cobb County was recognized as one of Georgia’s technology leaders during the 2025 Technology Innovation Showcase awards ceremony, held on Oct. 2, 2025. The annual event celebrates forward-thinking projects and partnerships that are transforming the state’s government technology landscape.
The Showcase highlights not only technical excellence but also the strategic, customer-focused, and ethical applications of technology that deliver real-world impact for Georgia residents. Cobb County received honors for its successful implementation of findhelp.cobbcounty.gov, a digital platform designed to simplify access to social services and community resources.
Launched between June 3 and Sept. 30, 2024, with funding from an ARPA grant, the initiative provides residents with a centralized online hub connecting them to vital services such as mental health support, housing, food assistance, healthcare, employment, and education.
The project began with a request from Chairwoman Lisa Cupid for an online mental health resource and expanded through collaboration with Cobb Collaborative and Cobb Douglas Public Health. Together, these partners built a platform that enhances access, streamlines navigation, and empowers residents to connect with help efficiently and with dignity.
Among its standout features:
- 24/7 access to vetted resources from any device, eliminating the need for multiple searches or office visits.
- An intuitive search engine with filters for eligibility, service type, and location.
- Regularly vetted listings to ensure reliability and relevance.
- Data-driven insights that inform local task forces and help allocate resources based on real-time community needs.
- Trackable referrals that confirm whether services were received.
- Self-service empowerment, allowing residents to find and enroll in assistance independently.
The County followed a 17-week implementation roadmap that included project planning, platform enablement, and robust community outreach through digital and traditional media.
Since its official launch on Sept. 30, 2024, findhelp.cobbcounty.gov has recorded more than 18,700 searches as of Jan. 2025. Over half of these inquiries were related to housing needs, with additional high demand for food, financial, and health assistance. These insights are helping local leaders identify priority issues and strengthen support systems across Cobb County.
Cobb County plans to continue expanding the platform, increasing resource listings, and exploring new integrations to further improve access and outcomes for residents.
