Enjoy a pilot performance of a brand-new musical for early elementary audiences from Discovery Stage Company. The Ugly Butterfly,  adapted from the children’s book by local writer Jessica Rosa Espinoza, takes us on a journey of self-discovery with a young caterpillar whose egg was displaced in a storm. With a beautiful score by composer Katie Berger Wood and lovable characters who’ve jumped right off the pages of the book, audiences are invited to uncover details about life cycles, meet new friends from within and outside their habitats, and celebrate the differences among us that enable our ecosystem to thrive.
